My photographic journey was launched in motion picture where storytelling is not only of utmost importance but where composition, style, lighting and genre also play a critical part in the viewers’ reaction to the images unfolding before them. Therefore, I would describe my style as cinematic with a bit of nostalgia sprinkled with mystery and peppered with a bit of curiosity.
I seem to be attracted to old things. They want to tell me their stories and bring them back to life. There’s a certain comfort in looking back at our world when it was quieter, more innocent, and simpler. And, thus I strive to capture these emotions to engage the viewer in wanting to step inside the frame. A photograph is only the beginning of the capture where it leads me to express my creativity in many different ways such as Polaroid manipulation, emulsion lifts, wood and ceramic transfers and my “Paintographs” where I have digitally painted the subject to make it look more like traditional art.
