A trip to Havana, Cuba in 2013 revealed a beautiful city of friendly people, lively music and classic architecture. Walking along the famous El Malacón Boulevard, one can immediately see the impressive 16th century fortress Morro Castle. Even though time has stood still for Cuba, the beauty of the city still shone amid its decay. I toured the city in a modern bus and saw the pride of the people. There is not much wealth in Havana, but there are some that thrive. I had the pleasure of eating at some wonderful restaurants run by individuals who were committed to prepare great food. The service was excellent and it was done with a smile. I also had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful works of 2 very interesting artists who did not let their disconnection with the United States affect their art, creativity and passion. Cuba is a very special place that I hope will not lose its charm by incorporating big chain fast food restaurants and huge billboards along the highways
